The First Automatic Machines Opened in Las Tunas

New ATMs will be opened as part of the installation process of new equipment to replace the obsolete technology.Las Tunas.- The first ATMs of the Bank of Credit and Commerce (BANDEC) started functioning in the eastern province of Las Tunas on August 13, on the occasion of the 87th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
The commissioning of these machines, which can be activated by a card and a secret key, is considered here as an unprecedented event, adding a new link to the chain of economic and social development of the territory.
According to Roberto Suarez, who is the assurance director of the Cuban Central Bank Office, that kind of service, which is safe, clean and transparent, has began in the branches 6461 and 6301 in the cities of Las Tunas and Puerto Padre, respectively.
All natural and legal persons owning magnetic cards, including retirees can have access to the benefits of this new technology, and can go 24 hours a day to these financial institutions.
Coming soon, to other BANDEC's and Banco Popular de Ahorro (BPA)'s; new ATMs will be opened as part of the installation process of new equipment to replace the obsolete technology in Cuba, said Xiomara Leyva Perez, director of the financial institution in the province.
The operation of this high quality process for financial transactions in both currencies, do not replace in any way the work of bank employees, but they lessen the recent increase in the demand for these kinds of services for the people, companies and organizations.
